Kindly take note: The safari commences at 07:30 on Day 1 and so a pre-night accommodation is mandatory. Sandy Tracks is available to assist with any necessary pre-safari arrangements if required.
Day 1-3: Maun – Moremi Game Reserve (Camping) (B,L,D) (150km)
The journey commences in Maun, where your guide will rendezvous with you at 07:30 at a predetermined location. From Maun, you'll embark on a drive to Moremi Game Reserve, a premier wilderness expanse in Botswana known for its mix of swamp and dry landscapes. Over the next three days, you'll immerse yourself in the quest for the diverse array of wildlife and avifauna this region is celebrated for, all while basking in the sights and serenity it offers. You'll spend three nights exploring this remarkable Game Reserve, lodging at two distinct campgrounds. Expect early morning and late afternoon game drives, allowing you to witness the sunrise and sunset amidst the wilderness. Camping accommodations will consist of private designated sites with basic bush facilities. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included)
Day 4: Southern Chobe National Park (Savute / Zwei Zwei) (camping) (B, L, D)
Your next stop is Chobe National Park, renowned for its diverse and captivating landscapes. Continuing your wildlife exploration, you'll venture into the arid Savute region, where vast plains are punctuated by bull elephants. Moving northward, you'll reach the Chobe River, where game drives will lead you along its banks, serenaded by the haunting calls of the African Fish Eagle. Camping accommodations will be provided in secluded designated areas with basic bush facilities, first in Savute (Day 4), then in the northern reaches of the park closer to the riverfront (Days 5 & 6).
Day 5: Northern Chobe National Park (Camping) (B, L, D) (170km)
Next, your journey leads you northward to the Chobe River, where your game drives will leisurely wind along its banks, tracing the echoes of the majestic African Fish Eagle's call. Delight in encountering a diverse array of wildlife, from puku and Chobe bushbuck to the captivating birdlife thriving in this distinctive riverine habitat. Your itinerary includes a transfer or game drive from Southern Chobe National Park to the Chobe River floodplain, followed by further game drives to explore Northern Chobe National Park.
Day 6: Northern Chobe National Park (Camping) (B, L, D)
Embark on exhilarating game drives to thoroughly explore the captivating landscapes of Northern Chobe National Park and the adjacent floodplain. As you traverse the rugged terrain of Northern Chobe, be prepared for encounters with a rich diversity of wildlife species, including iconic African elephants, graceful antelopes such as impalas and kudus, imposing predators like lions and leopards, and an array of fascinating birdlife. Keep your camera at the ready as you traverse this pristine wilderness, where every turn reveals a new and awe-inspiring sight.
Day 7: Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, (Comfortable Lodge) (B) (100km)
Following a brief morning game drive, your guide will accompany you to the Kazungula border, where you'll rendezvous with the transfer vehicle bound for your lodge in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe (Visa required). Arriving at your cozy lodge, you'll settle in for a relaxing evening. Later in the day, seize the opportunity to witness the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls and peruse local curios. Lunch and dinner arrangements are left to your discretion.
Day 8: End of Safari
The safari concludes after breakfast on Day 8 at the lodge. Sandy Tracks is delighted to organize post-tour accommodation, activities, and transfers to various destinations such as Victoria Falls airport or lodges, Livingstone airport or lodges, or Kasane, Botswana, for an additional fee. In Victoria Falls, activities range from exhilarating White Water Rafting down the Zambezi Gorge to tranquil Canoeing on the upper Zambezi and breathtaking Helicopter Flights over the Victoria Falls. BOTSWANA CAMPING SAFARIS
Description: Our camping safaris offer an immersive wilderness experience where guests are encouraged to actively participate in setting up and packing away their tents, as well as carrying their bags to and from the vehicle at campsites. However, the remainder of the camp chores, including cooking and cleaning, are expertly managed by our dedicated team, consisting of one guide and one camp assistant.
Equipment: Our tents measure 2.1m x 2.1m x 1.75m and are equipped with a comfortable 5cm high-density foam mattress for each guest. Shared ablution facilities are provided, with bush ablutions expertly set up by our team when camping in game reserves and national park campsites.
Vehicle: Explore the wilderness in style and comfort with our custom-built 4x4 safari vehicles and specially designed trailers, ensuring safe and reliable transportation throughout your journey.
Number of guests: Our safaris cater to a maximum of 12 guests, with no minimum requirement for participation. Once Bush Ways has accepted and confirmed a departure, the safari is guaranteed to proceed, providing you with peace of mind when planning your adventure.
