Day 1: Nairobi (Hemingway’s Collection) (D)
Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be transported to Hemingway’s Hotel, a premier 5-star luxury establishment in Kenya known for its exceptional services and comfort. As one of the finest boutique hotels in Nairobi, the journey to Hemingway’s takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Upon arrival, a brief overview of the safari will be provided, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at Hemingway’s Collection.
Day 2: Nairobi - Lake Naivasha (Loldia House) (B, L, D)
Following breakfast at your hotel, you will be greeted by your driver for a scenic two-hour journey through the breathtaking Great Rift Valley to reach Loldia House, situated along the shores of Lake Naivasha. Indulge in a delightful lunch on the lawn with a picturesque view of Mt Longonot. Spend the afternoon engaging in game drives around the farm, opting for a boat trip on the lake, or simply unwinding by our exquisite infinity pool, offering captivating lake vistas. Alternatively, treat yourself to some of our luxurious spa treatments for a truly relaxing experience.
Day 3: Great Rift Valley (Loldia House) (B, L, D)
During your stay at Loldia, you have the choice of a full day's activities on Loldia Ranch, including birdwatching, boat trips on Lake Naivasha, visits to the local flower farm, and a night game drive. Alternatively, you can embark on a super early morning adventure to Lake Nakuru National Park with a packed breakfast. Experience a morning game drive around Lake Nakuru, renowned for its abundance of flamingos and diverse water bird species. Designated a rhino sanctuary in 1983, the park is home to both black and white rhino species, often spotted, along with excellent chances of encountering leopards.
A picnic lunch is served beneath the Acacia trees overlooking the lake, or you may choose to return to Loldia for a late lunch. Additionally, there's the option to make a stop at Lake Elementeita on your way back, a soda lake crucial for the breeding of many threatened bird species and famous for its flamingo population. In the late evening, return to Loldia House for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Great Rift Valley – Maasai Mara (Governors’ Camp) (B, L, D) (Fly-In)
Indulge in a hearty breakfast at Loldia before making your way to the airstrip for a flight to the renowned Masai Mara Game Reserve. A short game drive en-route to Governors' Camp awaits upon arrival, allowing you to settle into your tent, enjoy lunch, and unwind. Embark on an exhilarating afternoon game drive around 3:30 pm, returning at dusk for drinks and lively conversations around the campfire before a delightful dinner. Drift off to sleep to the enchanting night-time sounds of the Masai Mara.
Rise early each morning to maximize your experience in this spectacular setting. Each day presents the option of three game drives within the Mara National Reserve, providing a deep immersion in the richness of wildlife in this region.
In addition to game viewing, a variety of activities awaits your preference: cultural visits to Masai villages, walking safaris, exploration of nearby responsible tourism community initiatives, or simply enjoying some downtime, perhaps a siesta or indulging in our safari spa treatments. Spend the night at Governors' Camp, soaking in the unique ambiance of the Masai Mara.
Day 5-6: Maasai Mara (Governors’ Camp) (B, L, D)
Awaken early each morning to seize the splendour of your remarkable surroundings. Each day unfolds with the option of three game drives within the Mara National Reserve, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in this wildlife-rich destination.
For those seeking variety, a diverse array of activities awaits – from game drives and cultural visits to Masai villages to walking safaris. Alternatively, relish the wildlife interactions along the river or indulge in some of our safari spa treatments for a tranquil experience.
On the second day, enhance your adventure with an exceptionally memorable experience – a surreal hot air balloon journey with Governors' Balloon Safaris (note: additional cost) over the vast expanse of the Masai Mara plains. This extraordinary adventure commences just before dawn; depart from the camp at 5:15 am to reach the Governors' Balloon Safaris take-off site, situated just behind Little Governors' Camp.
The captivating sunrise flight, lasting approximately one hour, depends on weather conditions. Upon landing, savour a delightful bush breakfast, skilfully prepared on balloon burners amidst the heart of the Mara plains. Raise a toast to your return to Mother Earth with your pilot over a glass of sparkling wine. In the late evening, journey back to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay at Governors' Camp.
Day 7: Maasai Mara – Nairobi (B) (Fly-In)
Conclude your adventure on the final day with an early morning game drive at sunrise, followed by a delightful breakfast at the camp. If your departure from the Mara is scheduled for a late afternoon flight, seize the opportunity for one more game drive in the late morning, followed by a scrumptious lunch back at the camp.
Following lunch, you will be escorted to the airstrip to catch the afternoon flight with Governors' Aviation. Upon arriving in Nairobi, you will be met and transferred to a restaurant for dinner (payment directly at the venue). After dinner, proceed to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international flight home.
