Day 1: Antananarivo (Tripolitsa Hotel) (B)
Upon your arrival at the airport, our friendly team will be there to greet you, holding a sign with your name on it for easy identification. Once we've welcomed you, we'll transport you to our comfortable hotel in Antananarivo. There, we will provide you with a comprehensive briefing about the exciting journey ahead. We'll cover all the details of our itinerary and ensure that any questions you may have about our adventure are thoroughly answered, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience in Madagascar.
Day 2: Antananarivo – Palmarium (Palm Beach Hotel or similar) (B)
Start your day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a scenic drive along the RN2 towards the Palmarium Reserve. As we travel, take in the breathtaking views of Madagascar's lush landscapes. Upon reaching Manambato, we will board a boat and sail along the tranquil Pangalanes Channel, enjoying the serene waters and surrounding nature. Our journey will lead us to the Palmarium Reserve, where we will settle in for the evening. After dinner, we'll venture out on an exhilarating night safari to observe the unique and elusive Aye-Aye, one of Madagascar's endemic nocturnal wildlife species. This rare opportunity promises an unforgettable encounter with the island's extraordinary biodiversity.
Day 3: Palmarium Reserve (Palm Beach Hotel or similar) (B)
Today, we will explore the enchanting Palmarium Reserve, renowned for its abundant flora and fauna. As we wander through the lush greenery, you'll encounter a variety of lemurs, vibrant bird species, and an array of unique plants. The reserve offers an exceptional opportunity to immerse yourself in Madagascar's rich biodiversity. In the afternoon, you have the choice to visit a nearby fishermen village, gaining insight into the local culture and lifestyle, or simply unwind and enjoy the serene surroundings of the reserve. Whether you choose to explore further or relax, the day promises to be both enriching and rejuvenating.
Day 4: Palmarium - Andasibe (Lemurs Lodge Hotel) (B)
After enjoying a hearty breakfast, we will set off towards Andasibe. As we journey, you'll have another opportunity to marvel at the stunning landscapes of eastern Madagascar, with its lush greenery and scenic views. Upon our arrival in Andasibe, we will check in to our hotel and settle into our accommodations. After a brief rest and some preparations, we'll embark on an exciting night walk. This nocturnal adventure will allow us to observe the night-active lemurs, including the fascinating mouse lemur, as well as a variety of frogs and chameleons. It's a unique chance to experience the vibrant nightlife of Madagascar's wildlife in their natural habitat.
Day 5: Mantadia National Park (Lemurs Lodge Hotel) (B)
After breakfast, we'll set off for Andasibe Mantadia National Park, a pristine haven of jungle and primary forest. As we explore this remarkable park, we'll encounter various species of lemurs, each more captivating than the last. The park's dense foliage and towering trees create an enchanting backdrop, while the sound of cascading waterfalls adds to the ambiance. We'll take time to admire these natural wonders, immersing ourselves in the vibrant ecosystem. After our adventure in the park, we'll drive back to our hotel, where you can relax and reflect on the day's experiences, ready for another exciting day ahead.
Day 6: Analamazaotra National Park (Lemurs Lodge Hotel) (B)
Enjoy a full day immersed in Madagascar's extraordinary wildlife with a visit to Andasibe Analamazaotra National Park. This park is a sanctuary of primary forests, characterized by its dense, humid environment teeming with life. The forest is adorned with lush vines, mosses, fern trees, and over a hundred species of orchids, creating a vibrant and diverse ecosystem.
As we explore, we'll encounter an array of lemurs, including the majestic indri-indri, the largest of all lemur species, as well as the striking diademed sifaka, the common brown lemur, the bamboo lemur, and the agile sportive lemurs.
The park's rich plant life also includes pandanus, the iconic ravinala palm tree, tambourissa, bamboos, and precious woods like palisander and ebony.
Adding to the biodiversity, you'll have the chance to spot 15 other mammal species and over 100 bird species, many of which are endemic, such as the Madagascar yellowbrow. This full-day safari promises an unforgettable experience of Madagascar's unique natural heritage.
Day 7: Andasibe – Antananarivo (Tripolitsa Hotel) (B)
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will embark on our journey back to Antananarivo. Along the way, we'll make a fascinating stop at a renowned reptile park. Here, you'll have the opportunity to see a diverse array of Madagascar's unique reptiles and amphibians. The park is home to various species of chameleons, geckos, snakes, and crocodiles, as well as vibrant frogs and the impressive Madagascan moon moth, one of the largest butterflies on the island. Additionally, we will encounter two different species of lemurs, adding to the excitement of our visit.
This exploration of the reptile park will take approximately two hours. As we continue our drive, you'll once again be able to appreciate the stunning landscapes and natural beauty of this region of Madagascar.
Upon our arrival in Antananarivo, you will have the option to either dine at your hotel or be escorted to a restaurant in town, where you can savor the local cuisine. This evening promises a relaxing and enjoyable conclusion to our day's adventures.
Day 8: Departure (B)
On the final day of our journey, day 8, we will enjoy a leisurely morning dedicated to shopping for souvenirs to bring home. This is the perfect opportunity to explore the local markets and discover a variety of Malagasy craftwork, from intricately carved wooden items to beautifully woven textiles. You'll also have the chance to purchase local spices, such as the renowned Madagascar vanilla, as well as other unique products that capture the essence of the island's culture and heritage.
After our shopping excursion, we will return to the hotel to prepare for your departure. We'll ensure you have ample time to pack your purchases and gather your belongings. Once ready, we'll head to Ivato International Airport, aiming to arrive two hours before your scheduled departure time. This allows plenty of time for check-in and any last-minute arrangements, ensuring a smooth and stress-free end to our memorable journey together in Madagascar.
