Day 1: Flight from Entebbe to Bwindi National Park (Mahogany Springs) (FB) (Fly-In)

Your extraordinary journey begins at Entebbe International Airport, where you will check in for your domestic flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrival as early as 6 am to ensure a smooth boarding process. Board your scheduled domestic flight for a scenic journey over Uganda’s lush landscapes. The flight takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, offering breathtaking aerial views of the country's varied terrain. Upon landing at Kihihi Airport, you will be met by our experienced guide. From here, enjoy a comfortable drive of about 50 minutes through picturesque countryside to your luxurious lodge, which overlooks the majestic Bwindi Forest.

Arrive at your lodge in time to settle in and relax. The lodge offers a serene environment with stunning views of the forest, perfect for unwinding after your journey. If you're feeling adventurous, the lodge's reception can arrange a variety of activities at an extra cost. These activities provide an excellent opportunity to explore the surrounding area and immerse yourself in the local culture and natural beauty.

Day 2: Bwindi National Park (Mahogany Springs) (FB)

Today marks the highlight of your trip—a day many dream of experiencing. Start your morning with a hearty breakfast at your lodge, fuelling up for the adventure ahead. After breakfast, you'll embark on a short, scenic drive of approximately 6 minutes to the park headquarters. Here, you'll be greeted with a warm welcome and an introductory traditional dance, setting the tone for an unforgettable day.

The briefing session provides essential information about the gorilla trekking experience. You'll learn about the park's regulations, safety guidelines, and the fascinating behaviour of the mountain gorillas. This briefing ensures you're well-prepared for the trek. After the general briefing, you'll be divided into groups, with a maximum of 8 people per group. This is when gorilla families are allocated, determining your trekking route and duration. The time taken to find your assigned gorilla family varies, depending on their location within the forest.

The trek can take anywhere from 4 to 8 hours in total, depending on the movement of the gorillas. As you navigate through the dense forest, guided by experienced trackers, the anticipation builds. The terrain can be challenging, but the reward is immense. Upon locating your gorilla family, you'll have a strictly regulated one hour to observe and photograph these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. Watching the gorillas interact, play, and go about their daily lives is a profound and moving experience.

To protect the gorillas and yourself, wearing a face mask is mandatory during the viewing time. This helps prevent the transmission of diseases to these vulnerable animals.

After this extraordinary encounter, you'll make your way back through the forest to the park headquarters. Here, you'll reunite with your driver for the short journey back to your lodge. The afternoon is yours to relax and reflect on the day's incredible experiences, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of Bwindi Forest.

Day 3: Departure to Entebbe (FB)

Today marks the conclusion of your extraordinary safari adventure. Begin your day with a leisurely breakfast at your lodge, savouring the last moments of your stay in the serene surroundings of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After breakfast, your driver will be ready to escort you on a 50-minute drive to Kihihi Airport. Enjoy the scenic drive through the Ugandan countryside, reflecting on the incredible experiences you've had over the past few days.

Upon arrival at Kihihi Airport, you'll board your domestic flight to Entebbe International Airport. Please note that the flight may include stops at other regional airports, providing an opportunity to see more of Uganda's diverse landscapes from above.

As your flight lands at Entebbe International Airport, your unforgettable journey in Uganda comes to an end. Whether you’re catching a connecting flight home or continuing your travels, you'll depart with a treasure trove of memories and stories to share.
